Blinking caps lock light at boot

15-r208nl Energy Star
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

At boot I get a blank screen, no beeps and a caps lock light bling twice, pause, twice, pause... and so on.

What hardware component is involved ?

Thanks

Hello @Morelli-L,

Can you match the sequence of 'blinks' to those shown in the table below.

Blinking caps lock light at boot

Thanks GBL84 for the fast answer. Now, due to the twice blinking, I suppose it's a BIOS

corruption problem.

As far as I can't see the screen I did try to recover BIOS from the last save using key

pressing (windows+b and power button or windows+v  and power button) with no results.

I think I should reinstall BIOS from external device (i.e. USB pen) but I didn't find BIOS for

my HP model in HP Support site. Laptop is HP Energy Star 15-r208nl product ID L0n16EA.

Any idea or other solutions ? Thanks in advance

WIN 8.1 BIOS update is tested for WIN 7 as well. Try updating it
