HP Pavilion dv6-2155tx Entertainment Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I installed a new single 8gb ddr3 ram in my laptop replacing 2×2gb (total 4gb) ram. But as soon as the windows logo comes, the laptop hangs for a dew secs and then blue screen. I can operate in BIOS and it detects the ram plus I ran memory test in diagnostics section of the bios and it passed it without any issue.

But when I exit the BIOS and windows logo appears it blue screens. What should I do?

Hi:

Only notebooks with the Intel 1st generation core processors can support an 8 GB memory chip in one slot.

The notebooks with the dual core processors such as yours only support 2 x 4 GB of memory.

You can only install DDR3-1333 (PC3-10600) MHz memory, 1.5V, non-ECC, unbuffered and it must have 8 little black memory chips on each side of the memory circuit board.
