HP Omen 2020 (en00xxx)
Linux

Hello,

I recently purchased an HP Omen en00xxx, and I have run to the following problem-issue.

I installed a second nvme drive. After that I installed Pop OS ( an ubuntu based linux distro) on the second drive without any problems whatsoever. The real issue is this :

I would like to change inside bios the default boot order and currently I cannot. Bios Setup (F10) recognizes only Windows Boot Manager under OS Boot Manager, but doesn't recognize Pop OS at all. So I guess this is the default boot order(Windows). The weird thing is that by default the system boots from the second drive I installed and goes directly to Pop OS. So although windows is default at BIOS setup, Linux is booted instead. When pressing F9 of course I can see both drives and both Operating systems, so I can go from there to Windows. The boot order at this menu (F9) is Pop os and under that, Windows. So my real question is, whether I can edit somehow OS  Boot Manager, as it recognizes both OSs, but it doesn't allow me to change the order. It's weird that Pop OS doesn't show up when pressing F10, but I don't really care about that. I want to boot from Windows by default while having Pop OS as a secondary option to boot from when pressing F9. I know there are some workarounds like installing and editing GRUB or EasyBCD but these are not good solutions, as they damage the stability of booting (when updates happen, etc). I would also like to mention that the BIOS I'm getting into has a more graphical interface, rather than the traditional blue screen which I know has the option to edit OS Boot Manager. So can I do this or not? Thanks in andvance!

I finally fixed this issue partially, by installing efibootmgr on pop os and changing the boot order from there. Now everything is how it was supposed to be apart from the fact that Bios Setup Menu still doesn't recognize linux, but Boot manager (F9) does. So everything is cool now.

I really can't understand how a laptop that costs over a thousand bucks doesn't allow the users to change the boot order even if it voids warranty. My problem wasn't solved. Does anyone have any ideas?
