Hey there!

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!

I understand that you have boot issues with your computer.

Restore BIOS default settings

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 key to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Using the arrow keys select Yes and then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Test the hard drive using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI

  1. Plug the AC adapter into the computer.
  2. Press the Power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  3. Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second.
  4. When the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI screen displays, click Component Tests.
  5. Click Hard Drive.
  6. Click Quick Test and then perform the extensive test.
  7. Click Run once. If the computer has more than one hard drive, click Test All Hard Drives.
  8. When the test is complete, the results are displayed on the screen. Test results are also available under Test Logs on the Diagnostics UEFI main page.
  9. If the hard drive test fails replace the hard drive.
  10. If the hard drive test passes reseat the hard drive.
  11. If you don't want to lose any data you can take it to any of HP partners like best buy, Costco etc. They will use a third party recovery software to backup the data.

Let me know if this works.

Have a great day!
