HP Omen 15-ce018dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Windows upgrade suggested there is a bios update for my HP Omen 15-ce018dx which I decided to go ahead.

Restarted, flashed but now the laptop does not start. It flashes 5 longs, 3 short blinks on CAPS lock, which is "The embedded controller times out waiting for the BIOS".

Recovering procedure for BOIS (win+B during power on) also does nothing - the light just blinks. Did it a zillion times.

Removed all pereferials and it does not help to boot or recover.

I suspect BIOS did not flash correctly and I need to re-flash it. I have a flash programmer device but need a bin or hex file to flash the bios. The motheboard is DAG3AAMBAF0 REV. F, BIOS chip is Winbond 25Q64JVS1Q 1736.

I've figured that I need TPN-Q194 DAG3AAMBAF0 REV F.BIN.zip.

Did anyone flash the bios this way and if anyone can share their BIOS dump, please, please??? It would be even nicer if it's officially available as a part of the support.

@ECHO_LAKE Thanks for the suggestion but that does not work for me. As I said, Win+B does not work, I tried Esc as well and it does not work either. The laptop's screen does not turn on, only power button light and Caps lock blinks 5-3.

It might be that something else got toast in the notebook but I want to rule out a chance that it's a bad bios code in the chip as it would be a great coincidence that something else broke exactly as I was flashing bios (using standard Windows update process). That's why I would like to re-flash Windbond chip with CH341A programmer as that's the only way for me to do that. But I need the correct original bios hex or bin file to flash it with.

Hope you can point me to one or send me it via email.

Thanks,

Sergey

I would suggest performing system factory reset will put the computer back to the original factory settings in this way all corrupted and outdated software will be removed.

While doing the recovery there is an option to backup your personal files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time.

Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows )You can also contact HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your system to help alleviate difficulties: www.hp.com/contacthp/

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi @ECHO_LAKE,

Let me repeat once again, the laptop does not start at all. Blank screen, the power button lights with red and Caps Lock indicator light flashes 5 longs, 3 short blinks.

I cannot get even to BIOS not talking about Windows or any Windows applications.

BIOS restore procedure does not work, CMOS reset also does not work.

All I ask is if the BIOS code is available from HP so that I can flash it with the programmer device, which is external to the HP laptop.

Hope that clarifies my situation and we don't be going in circles.

Regards,

Sergey
