Can't set Legacy Boot on brand new Pavilion x360 Convertible

Pavilion x360 Covertible 15-dq 1025od

Hi,

Need to boot from USB to install Ubuntu. I disabled Secure Boot, but there is not option for Legacy Boot, only UEFI and it wont boot from USB. It is a brand new Pavilion x360 Covertible 15-dq 1025od.

How can enable Legacy boot?

Best,

Julian

@jdaich

Your thread title is correct -- the newer HP PCs do not allow for going back to Legacy boot.

Hi,

Is there a way to replace the BIOS by one that will work with legacy boot?

Best,

Julian

@jdaich

Sorry no -- the removal of Legacy boot is intentional -- designed to make new PCs more "secure".
