Hi guys,
My tablet (HP Pavilion x2 - 10-k002nr, which has only 32GB on disk) was long ago filled up with Windows updates and could not boot due to abscence of space. I tried installing other OSs to test it, the last one was Elementary OS Linux. But it had issues with Wi-Fi adapter, both internal and external ones. So now, after finding the device which has been untouched for years, I wished to return to Windows but the tablet cannot boot an installer from USB stick or from SD card. No matter whether I enable secure boot or disable it (Legacy is abscent in BIOS) and which file system they are formatted to. Tried to install Windows to a disk partition inside Linux but after such experiments, the black boot screen says only "grub rescue. unknown filesystem".
Though my main question is can I find a way to make the HP Pavilion see installer on USB or SD card?
Thanks!

Hello @Keruzhko2
You get this error because master boot record/sector of hard disc still contains grub ( boot manager )
(2) To help you I need to know the product number (p/n) xxxxxx#xxx of your notebook !
It looks something like this:
You will find this information on the back/rear of your notebook in small alphanumeric letters.
Kind regards

Hi Ub6424
Thank you for the message! I might misunderstand the product No. as it is obliterated a bit due to time passed. Ah, I've found it in BIOS: K6Y03EA#ACB. Concerning the removal of MBR, I am not sure if it is possible from the grub rescue interface, though I am quite a noob in linux systems, and hope it really is.

Hello!
I wish to. But how can I install it when USB stick does not boot? See my topic, please.
Could that be an issue of grub that prevents launch of other systems? When I try to with secure boot enabled it tells me that Selected Boot Image did not Authenticate.

Hello @Keruzhko2
As I wrote before delete MBR -> previous post
BIOS:
Disable <secure boot>
Enable <legacy boot>
Try again
Kind regards

Hi,
Thank you once more! In your link, I see ways of deleting MBR in terminal, but I am stuck on grub rescue and cannot repair GRUB. Answer:
error: unknown filesystem
to all partitions by the ls command. Is it possible to delete MBR from here?
BTW, legacy boot is abscent in BIOS f.04, only secure boot is present.
