Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

This morning my PC wouldn't turn on upon me pressing the power button, so I followed this guide to do a BIOS-update which in theend upturned on the PC to my Windows login. After finishing up my work I put the PC to sleep by closing the lid as I usually do.
Now a couple of hours later nothing I do will seem to turn it on again, even doing the 'windows key+b' then 'power' doesn't produce any kind of response. The carger LED is on, but is the only thing lighting and I've confirmed plenty of charge on the battery.

I've already followed the automated guide step-by-step to no avail and was prompted to try the forums.

Is there any hope for my PC?

@savemypc,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

It is a great way to engage, post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community.

I’d love to help!

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • Do you see any blinking lights on the keyboard?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?

While you respond to that, I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check whether the issue is resolved.

Let me know how it goes and you have a good day ahead.

Only visibly powered LED is the charge-indicator. Nothing else seems to be powered.

I've installed Windows 8.1 Embedded Pro on the system instead of the native Windows 10 Home. It's run with the Windows 8.1 system for a couple of months without a single problem, but I suspect that the BIOS reset did something.

I tried following all steps that does not require the PC to be powered on (for obvious reasons)

The computer does not repond to any kind of input since the first hard reset. There is nothing wrong with the charger/adapter or battery.

I also opened up the case an reseated the RAM as the guide suggests and this did not fix the problem. There's no excess of dust or any obviously damaged components either.

 edit: At this point i don't care about any data on the PC itself, I have it all backed up, so any way to completly reset the system externally will do the trick.
