It started yesterday, I put my hp laptop in charge, after 10 secs it started charging. Today morning it was not charging, I tried many things, Then left it like that, after about half an hour I saw it was charging from the red signal. Afternoon same happened, first I tried it got within 3 sec, I removed and tried again then, I started using my laptop, 3 hours, it's still not charging.

Hi @RandomDreamers,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing some inconsistent charging behavior with your HP laptop. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.
Check the Power Adapter and Connection:
- Ensure the power adapter is securely plugged into both the laptop and the power outlet.
- Inspect the adapter for any signs of damage or wear, such as frayed cables or bent connectors.
Inspect the Charging Port:
- Look closely at the charging port on your laptop for any debris or dust that might be obstructing the connection. Use a can of compressed air to clean it out if necessary.
- Avoid using excessive force when plugging in the charger to prevent any damage to the port.
Restart Your Laptop:
- Sometimes a simple restart can resolve minor software glitches that may be affecting charging.
Update System Firmware and Drivers:
- Ensure your laptop's firmware (BIOS) and drivers are up to date. HP often releases updates that can improve hardware compatibility and performance.
Battery Health Check:
- Use HP's built-in battery health diagnostics tool or software (if available) to check the condition of your battery.
- If your laptop has a removable battery, you might consider removing it (if safe to do so) and reseating it after a few seconds to ensure a good connection.
Check Power Settings:
- Verify your power settings in the Control Panel or Settings app to ensure there are no settings preventing the laptop from charging properly.
Hardware Test (if applicable):
- Some HP laptops have built-in hardware diagnostics. You can run these tests to check for any hardware issues related to power or charging.
By systematically checking these points, you should be able to identify and hopefully resolve the issue causing your laptop to inconsistently charge.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
