I have a Pavilion tx2500 that gives me a Checksum error at boot and I can´t seem to get rid of it.
Here is the whole message that appears after the HP logo flashes fast.
Checksum error.
Press F5 to load Cmos default values.
Press F6 to continue.
If I press F6 the computer boots fine. If I press F5 the computer locks down and I have to reset the bios taking out the batteries and discharging the notebook.
Things I tried to solve the problem:
- Taking batteries out and pressing Power button for 30 seconds.
- I replaced the small battery even it it had 2.7 volts with one full (3.0 volts).
- I flashed the latest bios that I could find (from 2009). Taken from an old post in 2013 from this forum. I was one year newer than the one it had.
- I changed the memory several times, and tried different slots, one at a time.
Any help or tips will be appreciated, thanks!
