Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I had a problem with this (Windows 10) computer with not shutting down fully, the solution I found was to update the bios. This fixed the issue but 2 more arose.  Everytime the computer boots up not from a restart, it would ask for a keyboard layout and would scan and repair my C drive, i managed to fix the C drive scaning but still cant fix the keyboard layout from coming up everytime i boot up the computer.

Hi @Icekid206

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query in this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that "choose your keyboard layout" comes up after every restart.

I’d love to help!

Follow below steps to fix this issue.

  1. Click on the Start Menu. ...
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click on Time & language.
  4. Click on Region & language.
  5. Click on the language you wish to add a keyboard layout to.
  6. Click on Options.
  7. Click on Add a keyboard.
  8. Click on the keyboard you want to add.

Check the screenshot below and make sure that the setting in advance setting is set to defaults.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
