Running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit on HP Envy laptop 17-ce0xxx, with 12 GB ram and Intel i7 processor.

Cloned C:drive SSD to larger SSD, using Aomei Backupper. When attempting to boot in Secure/UEFI mode, new SSD is not recognized - hard drive not found (3FO). I can only fully boot when boot option is set to Legacy Mode. Secure Boot is not an available option, which is preventing an upgrade to Windows 11.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi:

In order to enable secure boot, you would need to reinstall W10 in EFI mode.

From what you have written, you have W10 installed in Legacy mode which uses the MBR boot structure.

Secure boot requires Windows to be installed using the GPT boot structure.

So that is why you can't enable secure boot.

No boot disk is detected because the MBR and GPT boot structures are not compatible with each other.

To install W10 in EFI mode, you have to select the EFI USB flash drive from the F9 boot options menu and not the Legacy one.
