E8A11UA (ENVY TouchSmart 17 PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

At the startup error message: 90B Cooling Fan is not operating correctly.   Notebook shuts down computer in 15 sec.  I do not hear or feel fan working.  I recently upgrated to Windows 10 Anniversary update.  No other changes.

Please advise the best coarse of action.

I need to remove display panel before getting to fan.  Do  you have video, because the instructions are very skatchy

Do I need to replace the heat sink? Do I need thermal paste ? If yes, what brand ,type?   Do you have a video with step  by step procedure to replace fan?

According to the manual, the fan can be removed without removing the sink.

 

Check pages 85 and 86, there is detailed the procedure and previous steps:
