Hi @Sfever,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Setting a custom logo for an HP OMEN laptop typically involves modifying the BIOS splash screen, which requires specific tools and procedures. If the methods you tried, such as CustomLogoApp.efi and HP CMSL PowerShell, didn’t work, here are some additional steps and considerations.
Verify BIOS Support
- Not all HP laptops support custom logos. Check your laptop's user manual to confirm if your specific model supports splash screen customization.
Update BIOS
Ensure that your BIOS is updated to the latest version. Sometimes, older BIOS versions might not support certain customization features.
Download the latest BIOS update from the HP Support website for your OMEN laptop.
Use HP UEFI Tools
HP provides tools specifically for logo customization. If the CustomLogoApp.efi failed, ensure you're using it correctly:
- Place the CustomLogoApp.efi tool in the root directory of a USB drive formatted as FAT32.
- Save your custom logo as a BMP file (e.g., logo.bmp) and place it on the same drive.
- Reboot the laptop and access the UEFI shell via the BIOS boot menu.
- Run the tool and specify the custom logo file.
HP CMSL (Client Management Script Library)
HP CMSL works in PowerShell to customize firmware settings. Ensure:
- You have administrator rights on your system.
- You're using the correct syntax and your logo adheres to the required format (usually 800x600 BMP, 24-bit color).
- Check if secure boot or other security settings in the BIOS might be preventing the tool from working.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I've tried both of them, CustomLogoApp.efi gives out a error message said "No supported bios protocol" and CMSL is giving an unknown error 3. Also I've tried the method in this post:
But I can't find the "Custom Logo" option under Boot Options
Is omen laptops just unavailable for a custom UEFI logo? I have Elite Dragonfly and changed it's logo. But I can't find information for omen laptops
