DST fail: 0LV4HW-7TAA7P-XD7WMA-60WG03
Hi All,
My laptop just over 3 years old, has been having trouble booting up recently after windows updates. A few hard resets or waiting 20 mins would usually work.
After the recent update, it didn’t boot up (preparing automatic repair or just black screen). I did the DST check and got the code above.
Is this a hard fail, need to swap the hard drive or is there another workaround?
I’m now getting boot device not found, please install and operating system on your hard disk. Hard Disk 3FO message.
Thanks,
TryingRL

Hi:
Below is the failure report information provided by the code, minus your notebook's serial number...
0LV4HW-7TAA7P-XD7WMA-60WG03 | OK | XXXXXXXXXX | 9/3/20 | 303 | Storage | Floppy Drive, Hard Drive, Memory Drive, Optical Drive, SCSI, Tape Drive | Hard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure |
You will need to install a new hard drive and reinstall the operating system.
Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.
