You need RIGHT part #. The specs of your machine is

It uses 3-cell, 41 Wh Li-ion battery part # 849314-856. Did you buy the right battery ? It is N/A from HP now, you can buy from

HP specs shows part # only has 41Wh. Your new battery can't be the same part.
