You need RIGHT part #. The specs of your machine is

It uses  3-cell, 41 Wh Li-ion battery part #  849314-856. Did you buy the right battery ?  It is N/A from HP now, you can buy from

 

               https://www.newegg.com/p/1HU-004W-00H15

My replacement battery has all of the same numbers, except the capacity...chose more Wh

HP specs shows part # only has 41Wh. Your new battery can't be the same part.
