Hi good evening. I Dropped laptop. On starting it shows:  Smart Hard Disc Error and says it detected an imminent failure. Then shows Hard Disc 1 (301).

When I do F2 system diagnostics it shows: HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI version 1.24.0.0 - bios. And shows no hard drive installed.

My lap top model is  14-cf0007nx.

Any expert help ?. Thanks in advance.

Hi:

You will need to access the location of the hard drive and make sure that it did not become dislodged from the drive connector cable.

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

HP 14 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service GuideIMPORTANT! This document is intended for HP authorized ...

Put the notebook back together just so you can operate it, so that if you have to replace the drive, it won't be as difficult to take it apart again.

If the notebook still doesn't work, then I recommend you remove the drive and instead of replacing it with a 2.5" drive, your notebook has a M.2 slot that supports the fast-performing NVMe M.2 SSD.

M.2 SSD's are not as subject to failure due to bumping or dropping the notebook since they have no movable parts.
