Elite X2 1012 G1 / Thunderbolt / PXE

Elite X2 1012 G1

Hi @ all,

i have a Elte x2 1012 Tablet and the Thunderbolt 3 Dock 65 W (P5Q54AA) and i want to install over PXE a new customized Windows OS. The BIOS and the Dock have the latest BIOS Version (Elite X2 - v1.14).

But i cannot boot over PXE. The PXE Option is not visible in the BIOS under the UEFI Boot Order/Legacy Boot Order.
The Network (PXE) Boot is marked.

12 sec. push the Power Button - the same behavior.

What to do? please help.

Hi Wennze,

The dock does not support pre-boot environments such as PXE.  More information here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05060909

Thanks for your answer.

A new simple USB Ethernet Adapter is on the way. Hopefully it works with the adapter.

Don't waste your time.  I have already tried the (5V=500mA) USB=Ethernet Microsoft Model #1663 after the $200 HP USB docking station didn't work, with the exact same results - it boots to a blue PXE menu screen with no options.  This motherboard is supposed to support this, so HP needs to provide a UEFI firmware update because the original 6.0 release is not working.  This is a known issue with HP that they should be sharing internally instead of pushing more products onto the consumer, along with misguided information.  Your engineers have had 6 months now to come up with a workable firmware update.  We need to be able to properly image these tablets as the business model your promote them as.

HI @ all,

i have bought a USB2Eternet Adapter (Anker A7610) and it works.

Dont waste your time with the Thunderbold Dock - plug and install your own image.

A new BIOS is also nessesary.

I have the same issue.   I am out of Ideas - The very first one we tried we managed to PXE Boot and build.   First and last time -  No combination of settings or firmware versions works.  Looks like the latest version of firmware takes away the F12 option all together :(

Hi,

with the USB2Lan Adapter and BIOS Option "SecureBoot disable and Legacy Boot enable" it works for us.
In the Boot Option Menü enable everything (USN/LAN/...).

But you cannot Bitlocker the device after Install. This is a another problem.

Hello,

yes i have the Version 1.16.

But with the PXE Boot enable i can't enable Bitlocker. Bitlocker needs the Secur Boot enable.

The Solution to this problem is, that i put the boot files on a USB Stick.
