OMEN 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-en1000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

USB-C port not working, and when I run the diagnostics I get that failure ID.

It has happened twice before and it started working for a while after a bios reset (30 second power button), but now even that no longer solves this problem.

Thanks

Hi @dInquisitor,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with the USB-C port on your OMEN 15.6 Inch Gaming Laptop PC, and it's concerning that the problem persists even after a BIOS reset.

Here are a few steps you can take to try and troubleshoot the issue further:

  • Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the USB-C port for any physical damage, debris, or bent pins. Sometimes, a visual inspection can reveal obvious issues.
  • Update Drivers and Firmware: Make sure your laptop's drivers and firmware are up to date, including any updates related to the USB-C port. Sometimes, driver or firmware updates can resolve compatibility issues or bugs causing the problem.
  • Try Different Devices and Cables: Test the USB-C port with different devices and cables to rule out the possibility of a faulty accessory causing the issue.
  • Run System Diagnostics: Apart from the built-in diagnostics, you can also try running other system diagnostics tools or software to further identify the problem.

Given that this issue has recurred multiple times and is now not resolved by a BIOS reset, it's possible that there's an underlying hardware problem with the USB-C port that requires repair or replacement.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
