I am getting different blue screen errors on start up.

This is my first HP and so far I am not happy.

Error examples:

1) STOP CODE IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

2) PAGE_FALT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Tried a bunch of stuff but I dont understand whats wrong.

Got yet another different error today. This is insane. HP is really aweful as there is no support. Looking at taking this laptop back and trading in for a different brand.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Could you please share the picture of the error message?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (Refer to the removable and sealed battery)
BIOS default:(do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and    Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi,

UK support spent 4 hours with me and couldn't find anything. They eventually said I must book it in here in South Africa. It's new, if I have to book it in already I want an exchange. I dont want the laptop. But not exchange approved by HP. I worked at a big electronics company, and we would exchange a product like this very quickly as this should not be happening so early on. This is clearly an OBF.

New  problem now. Often when I start up, there is a black screen with a thin blue horizontal line in the to left corner. Its just there and the laptop does not start-up.  This laptop is really becoming a problem. This was bought to help me run a new business I started and I have growing concerns that this laptop will soon have to go in for a repair despite being new.  how am I going to cope as a new business owner with this laptop if this goes in for a repair? Thus far I have not been very impressed with HP, I have contacted support on here, facebook  and UK tech support. No one can tell me whats wrong and to book it in. Easy for you to say when your business does not relay on the laptop to function. Tis laptop is new and cost me a small fortune.

Thank you for posting back.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.
The last thing I can suggest try and restore the OS back to the factory default, which will isolate whether it’s a software or hardware issue.  The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
