HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 13-ay0002ns
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I ahve been using the HP Command Centre since I unboxed my laptop. In the last year or so I have been using the different modes and they have been working to perfection. Today, I opened the Command Centre and there was no longer a tab where I could chose the different options. I would like to have this working again. Thsi also lead to my next problem. When I went to open the Command Centre I noticed that the f12 key didn't work anymore, I normally use it to open the Command Centre but I noticed it didn't work. Also, the LED that used to appear when the I muted the microphone doesn't work, I think it is the whole button as it doesn't even mute the microphone. The last problem is the LED of the mute button, but for sound this time. It does work, it is just that the LED doesn't light up when I mute it.

I hope you can help with all of this. I wrote this in a hurry, so if you don't understand anything, please don't hesitate on asking.

Thank you,

Rodrigo Sobral Barrento

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (Refer to the removable and sealed battery)
BIOS default:(do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and    Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer. If the issue persists, follow the next steps.

Perform the following steps to download and install the latest version of HP Command Center from the Microsoft Store:

  1. Right-click the Start button.

  2. Click the Search field, type Microsoft Store, and then press the Enter key.

    The Microsoft Store opens.

  3. On the upper-right corner, click the See more button .

  4. Click Downloads and updates.

  5. Click All owned, and then select HP Command Center.

  6. Click Update.

    Update begins.

  7. After the update completes, restart the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Yes, I have recently updated my laptop, but no configuration changes. And unfortunately none of these options worked.

Thank you for posting back.

Let's try this:

  • Method 1. Restart the computer.
  • Method 2. Sign out, then sign back into Windows.

If the issue persists, follow the next steps.

  • 1) In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
  • 2) Look for OMEN Command Center.
  • 3) Right-click to uninstall.
  • 4) Restart the computer.
  • 5) Install the OMEN Command Center from this link.

If you still need additional technical assistance that can be better provided through one-on-one interaction or a remote session with our HP Support team if you would like to continue troubleshooting.

This new app is nice, but it won't tell me my System Vitals as they won't load and I still can't chose different performance modes. Has the HP Command Centre been disabled?

Also, my keyboard mute button still doesn't work and my sound mute button LED still doesn't light up.

Thank you for posting back.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.
The last thing I can suggest try and restore the OS back to the factory default, which will isolate whether it’s a software or hardware issue.  The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
