Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to use laptop purely as a desktop.But the machine will not boot wth the battery uninstalled.

Anyone have ideas?

Hi,

Modern notebooks no longer have CMOS battery and the little power needed is taken from battery in notebook.

 

Personally, I would just leave the battery in and keep the ac adapter attached, The battery will stop charging when full and will only start charging again once it falls below a certain threshold.

I usually do not worry too much about the battery and just replace it every 18-24 months on devices i carry around, and much more on devices i keep constantly attached to external power.
