HP ENVY x360 Laptop -15t-ed000 CTO

My computer won't turn on. IT says I need a motherboard replacement, however I find this ridiculous as this laptop is less than 2 years old. This also seems to be a common problem. Has anyone experienced this? What solutions are available? I have a number of HP products but I don't want to have to switch brands to ensure durability as a quick google search shows this is a common problem among the envy and spectre line...

Hello @sohlesun

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.

There are several causes for errors:
- Charger defective (check output voltage)
- Battery defective (short circuit, disconnect and start only with charger)
- Mainboard defective (short circuit)

- Internal display cable loose or broken causing a short circuit

A good electrical technician can fix these errors by checking the short circuit and replacing the affected components on the motherboard. Bad technicians say that the main board must be replaced.

Kind regards
