HP G61 is not showing anything on screen

hello, first time poster here. sorry if I put this in the wrong category. My brother bought a HP G61 at a yard sale. he went to plug it in, but the screen is dead. I've tried a hard reset but nothing changes. there are 2 lights blinking by the caps lock and page up buttons. they do not stop blinking. I assume the battery is dead, but i'm not to good at finding out. I there a way to cast this to an external screen in the meantime to check the OS?

This looks like a Hardware issue. Since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who can schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.
