Example: HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1010la
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1010la convertible laptop shuts down/turns off randomly. I went into the BIOS and I slightly folded it and it shut down automatically. I have run all the tests provided by the HP support app, and they all said "PASSED" - the software and hardware tests. So I don't know what else to do. I would appreciate any help to fix the issue.

@Vicedy48 Perhaps, you should restart the device, tap F10 to access the BIOS screen, once there, close the LID while on BIOS screen and check if the device turns off, and all the lights go off as well, if it does, it would confirm a hardware malfunction, and if it doesn't, this could be a software issue, if it's software, create a new user account and check if that works.

Thanks a lot for your reponse! I did the BIOS test and it did turn off 😞 does that mean it's a hardware issue? What could it possibly be if that's the case (what components might be causing the problem?). Anyway, thanks again for your help

@Vicedy48 If the issue occurred while on BIOS as well, then it's a hardware malfunction either with the system board or the hinges causing an error, either way, the best way forward is to get the device repaired, and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

here's how private messages work: Click here for details.

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
