HP Pavilion 13-b000no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I've got a HP Pavilion 13-b000no that will not start properly.

I want to replace the BIOS battery - but can't find it.  Is there any BIOS battery at all?

The ordinary battery is totally broken.

So I also wonder if the ordinary battery doubles as BIOS battery as well?

Behavior:

It seams the computer goes directly to power saving when started.

If I can set the clock in BIOS it will start directly after that.

When turned of without powered from charger it will not start again.

best regards

Hi,

There is no BIOS battery (CMOS, RTC), only the main battery. You could try replacing it. The part number is 761230-005

You can try performing an online search with part number or trying a reseller as it is not available in HP parts store

Example

Here is service manual (page 35 battery).

Hope it helps,

David

Many thanxs for the reply.

Sorry to say, the battery is too expensive for me (atleas that I'm not sure that's causing this).

Could an BIOS update help me to avoid the computer goes directly in power saving mode?

If so, I can let Windows / Linux run a script to sync to a time server.

Thanks for the manual - I've already have opened the computer and unmounted the battery.

However the manual is always nice to have.

Hi,

You could try a cheaper battery from ebayor somewhere similar, just to see if it makes a difference.

When you say it goes into power saving mode. When does this happen, after booting into Windows? At startup?

David
