HP Recommended

Hello, I have a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop, currently on windows 7 starter, which I am trying to upgrade to Windows 10. The windows 10 installations needs to do multiple automatic restarts as it's standard procedure, but my laptop always freezes on the "Press Esc key for Startup Menu" screen, with the HP logo showing in the middle (also, nothing happens when I click the esc key).

I then press the power key for 2-3 seconds, which forcefully shuts down the laptop. When I turn it back on, it turns on perfectly, but the windows installation tool shows installation failed, undoing all the changes made to computer. I guess the forceful shutdown during restart causes the windows 10 installation process to break & fail... I've tried running the installation 2-3 times now, and everytime the tool tries to restart the computer, instead of my laptop restarting smoothly, it always gets stuck on the "press esc ..." screen... Note, this sometimes also happens when normally turning on the laptop (sometimes).

So I just want to know, what should I do in order to make sure my laptop doesn't freeze during automatic restarts, and I am able to smoothly upgrade to windows 10... Any help is appreciated! Thanks 🙂
