Pavilion 15-b150sv
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)
Hi,
I have the HP Pavilion Sleekbook and I currently have Windows 10 on my laptop but i want to change to Windows 7. I have Windows 7 on a USB stick and also have Legacy Support Enabled from BIOS, when I put the USB and press F9 to get into Boot Device Options it wont go there and the screen is just black and freezes I have tried the USB to another laptop and worked perfectly. Tried other 5 USB sticks and still the same when i put the USB the laptop freezes!
Any idea how to fix it? I have seen almost every question here and haven't discovered why it does that ( tried all the ports of the laptop ).
Thanks.

It looks like you were interacting with Barachiel, but he is out for the day. I'm KrazyToad & I'm at your service.

It seems you have an older BIOS and UEFI Diagnostic version

Do the USB ports work fine when you are inside Windows?

At this point I would request you to contact our Phone Support

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on "Continue as guest".

3) Enter the serial of your device. You can refer to this Link: hp.care/2bygf7l for help in locating your Serial Number.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

6) Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Thank you

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community.

I reviewed the case regarding issues with the computer crashes when trying to boot from usb drive. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Superb description, brilliant troubleshooting and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 😉

For now please try these steps:

Re-start the notebook, keep tapping F2, and run a component test with the usb ports. If it fails, then I'd request you to contact HP's phone support team for further assistance.

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on "Continue as guest".

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

They will be happy to assist you immediately. If the unit is under warranty repair services under the manufacturer's warranty will be free of charge.

Best regards,

Barachiel
