Probook 4430s
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello all,

My friend has recently brought his HP Probook 4430s to me for assistance. When the laptop boots, it goes to a "secured by mcafee" screen with a silver hp-themed backround image and the credentials box will not pop up and the cursor appears but will not move. He recently deleted his profile within windows and when he rebooted, the boot sequence now freezes at this point. I am assuming this is because the mcafee preboot is looking for his profile (another profile exists on the machine) but cannot find it because it no longer exists. I have tried booting into safe mode with cmd to see if i can recreate the profile but i am unable to get it to boot to safe mode w cmd as HPs own startup begins instead and F8 does not seem to do anything. is there any course of action i can take to try and retrieve these files?
