Spectre 13 -v023tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have HP Spectre 13-v023tu, 8GB,windows 10 home. As i was keep getting low in resources message while presenting a PPT over the zoom app, I could see that RAM was 80% occupied. So i have uninstalled couple of apps and stopped some background processes which include defender, opera browser, audacity etc. memory usage came down to 35%. I have switched it off and trying to turn it on but its not starting. when i charge, its showing stable white light.if i press and hold the power button, white light stops and if i press and hold power button , white light starts. Could you help? Power adapter is working as i tried charging my mobile.

@compassionate Have you attempted to connect the device to an alternate power cord or adapter?

Or check with another wall outlet, excluding any surge protectors to check if it works?

While you respond to that, here's  the best way to resolve the issue, using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

CLICK HERE FOR STEP BY STEP GUIDE

(simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).

If the above doesn't help or the steps are insufficient, check the below steps:

Let's start with a hard reset of your notebook computer before you try any other troubleshooting steps.

Reasons for a hard reset

A hard reset has the following effects:

  • Clears the memory.

  • Reestablishes the connection between the BIOS and the hardware

The following conditions can be helped by the hard reset:

  • Windows stop responding.

  • The display suddenly goes blank.

  • The computer does not wake from sleep or hibernate modes.

  • Software applications freeze or fail to respond.

Hi Riddle,

Thanks a lot for your time. Unfortunately,

I have given the notebook in a private service centre as the HP support was not opened and not answering the call in my area. They replaced faulty power and IC chips. Received 3 days ago. It was working till today afternoon and now the problem again.

Screen black , power button LED on, caps lock flashes.

Steps tried: 1. switched off the notebook 2. kept charging for 30minutes 3. tried to switch on again but no luck.
