HP Spectre 15-eb0000 x360 Convertible Laptop PC RCTO Base Model

I suppose I'm disappointed to say the least. My question is regarding my wife's Spectre x360 laptop. She was using it the night or so before and this afternoon when she went to turn it on to check her calendar she found that it was unresponsive and would not boot up.

We've occasionally had issues with getting it to start in the past but we figured it was just some nuance to these new machines that require a small degree of finagling to get them to start.

In any case, there are no lights or any indication of life from the machine. It's completely dead. In my brief perusing's of the rest of the forums this seems to indicate a motherboard failiure. I think the disappointing aspect of all of this is it was a christmas gift purchased in December of 2020.  I splurged a bit figuring a nice machine like this would last a long time for her. She hardly does anything on it besides occasional meetings and caledaring. It has hardly been used. Whereas, I've got laptops that I've used for work that would be considered of lesser quality that I use every day for work 8 hours a day that are over a decade old and they still work.

I'm sorry if this is is coming off as a vent, but also given that it is out of warranty after a 1 year warranty I don't know what options are available to us at this time.

If there are any suggestions for things I could try to get it booting again I'd love to hear it. But, I imagine the cost to replace the motherboard would be enough that it would make more sense to purchase a new machine.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Thank you.
