HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi I've been having this problem as well & also solved it by connecting my Spectre X360 to the monitor using a mini DP to HDMI/DVI/VGA Adapter.

When using  dual boot Mint 19 no problem with HDMI, but using Windows 10 and HDMI, then system completely freezes after a random time period normally a few minutes.

Have updated all the drivers, but still the same behaviour.  System feezes.

@HP please solve this?

There are no error messages and a power cycle is required.

Have recently purchased a Dell P2417H Monitor, when the problem started, but hadn't used a second monitor before with the laptop.

@Iiotnrg,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

As you have mentioned that it works fine on Mint 19 and not on Windows 10, this defintely looks like a Operating system issue.

Let's try to run an extensive system test from F2 and check if the hardware components on your PC are functioning correctly.

1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.

When the menu appears, press the F2 key.

3. On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.

4. Click Extensive Test.

5. Click Run once, or Loop until error.

While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component are

shown on the screen.

6. If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) so you have it

available when you contact HP Customer Support. The information is also available in

Test Logs on the main menu.

Refer this article to know more information about running system diagnostics on your PC. Click Here

If the test passes, then this could be an issue with the software or driver related.

I would suggest here is to Run Windows Updates troubleshooter -

Download and install the troubleshooter from this link.

Now try to perform Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

If the issue still persists, I would suggest here is to update the Bios, chipset and graphics card drivers on your PC either from our HP support website, using this link or download it using HP support Assistant.

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

I get the following error message code:94RXW3-7LX9PC-MFPWLJ-401903, that indicates "A memory module (RAM) is not working and may need to be replaced."

The memory is 8GB non-removable for my type L5Y77EA#A2N.   Can this module be replaced?

As this is a hardware issue, please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your computer.

Hope this helps!
