HP Stream 11 Pro
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Whether on AC adapter or not, I have exact same symptoms:  Press the Power button, laptop does not boot at all with a black display and no backlight. No beep codes, only the Power button LED blinks once about every 5 seconds. No other LEDs blink.

When I hold down the power button for at least 10 seconds or more, the Power button LED goes off and remains off, as if the laptop is truly powered off.  Then when the Power button is pressed again, the LED starts blinking again once every 5 seconds.

I removed the keyboard, temporarily disconnected the connector from the internal battery to the motherboard, and held down the Power button for more than 30 seconds to emulate a hard reset like you do on a laptop which has an external battery. After reconnecting the internal battery to the motherboard, I pressed the power button with the exact same symptoms as before, blinking once every 5 seconds.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Tom
