Hello, I have this Zbook 17 G3, with a Xeon CPU and it wont start. Tried all the possible "solutions", but none helped me.
The error is always the same - five blinks on capslock+numlock, and fans at full, and then it power cycles and reboots.
Things tried memory wise - single stick at position 1: 4GB UDIMM,16GB ECC UDIMM,32GB UDIMM, 32GB ECC UDIMM.
Made a USB recovery bios from the SP, pressed and hold Win+B - i can see the power draw at 46W instead of usual 35W, but nothing happens over an hour, so turned it off.
Read out the BIOS chip (made a backup), cleared ME region using a guide, flashed back - just all the same behavior. Read it back again - the NVRAM was filled with the memory model - so memory training works!
Swapped the GPU with a M2000 from another Zbook15 G3 - no difference.
So if the 5 blinks means "System board error", how can one experienced HW engineer figure out what is the exact cause of this? There must be some finite decision list that makes exactly this error. Would a LPC debug card show a more helpful error message?
