I have an Hp envy x360 14-es0xxx laptop with a continuous white blinking power button light when I turn it on. The light blinks while on battery and if I disconnect the battery and just use the power cord it still flashes and with both connected it still does. I have updated the bios and tried a hard reset with battery unplugged and power cord unplugged and holding down the power button for 60 seconds. I can't think of anything else to try.

Hi @Miles_Ke,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The continuous white blinking power button light on your HP Envy x360 14-es0xxx can indicate a range of issues. Here are some diagnostic steps and solutions to try:

  1. Power Reset:
    • Since you have already attempted a power reset with the battery and power cord unplugged, repeat the process to ensure any charge is drained from the system.
    • Disconnect all external devices and peripherals.

  2. Check AC Adapter and Power Source:
    • Ensure the AC adapter and power cord are functioning properly. Check for any visible damage.
    • Test the adapter with another compatible HP laptop if possible, or try using a different adapter with your laptop.

  3. Check for Error Codes:
    • Count the number of blinks or monitor any pattern; they may correspond to specific error codes indicated in HP support documentation for your model.

  4. BIOS Update:
  5. HP Diagnostic Tools:
    • Use HP Hardware Diagnostics (preboot) to check for any hardware issues: HP PC Hardware Diagnostics | HP® Support. Access it by pressing the Esc key during startup to access the boot menu, and then press F2 to launch diagnostics.

  6. Test in Safe Mode:
    • Attempt to boot into Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. This will help identify if a software issue might be causing the problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
