Had Quickbooks and excell open, battery went down, reboots continually

Pavilion 15

Have HP Pavilion 15. Battery ran down and computer shutoff. Had Quick Books, Mail and Excel open when it shutdown. Was modifying an Excel worksheet when it shutdown. Plugged in computer, waited a bit and rebooted. Now it does not quit rebooting.takes desktop blank then brings up desktop page with icons. If I enter Windows button when desktop has icons then it goes from quick blank desktop to windows page then back to blank desktop

@ALLIGATOR47, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Have you tried using an alternate AC adapter and check if the issue persists?

Do you see any blinking lights on the PC?

Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

  1. Remove any discs and USB devices.

  2. Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.

  3. Disconnect all non-essential devices such as printers, scanners, external hard drives.

  4. Leave only the mouse, keyboard, and monitor connected.

Power reset the PC

Refer to this document to know how.

Run a test on the hardware components of the PC

1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.

3. Perform System Test > Extensive test. Share the result on your next post.

Let me know how this goes.
