I was getting an error on booting that the hard drive could not be found. Thinking that something might have gone wrong with the hard drive, i bought a new one. 

 

But still i get the same error.  When i run the system diagnostic (F2 during startup) and run the hard drive check the message i get is "No Hard Drive installed. Please check that the power and the data cables are connected properly"

 

This laptop was purchased in July 2017. Rather poor quality if this is effectively the end of life of this laptop.

 

( note .. i dont think HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) was ever there in my laptop. ... when running the diagnostic, i only see the back and what dos like screen)
