Hello,
I've recently received an error while booting up my HP Notebook 15 regarding a Smart Hard Disk Failure. I've run a diagnostic test on the hard drive component and it failed with the following information:
FAILURE ID: 9UUC3F-8GG9SM-XD7X6K-60B203
I was wondering what could have caused this, as I've had no problems with the laptop up until now, and what steps I could do to repair it? I do not need to recover the data on the drive, just need it to be functional again.

Hi:
The error code reported, Hard Disk 1 SMART Hard Drive Detects Imminent Failure, means the hard drive is about to fail, or has failed, needs to be replaced, and the operating system reinstalled.
If you can still get into Windows, back up any files you want to save onto a portable hard drive.
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

After you replace the hard drive, you can use the HP cloud recovery client utility to create a bootable recovery drive.
Here is an info link for how to use that utility...
