HP Pavilion x360 - 13t-s100 CT
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi guys, this is more as to share a solution to "device not found: hard disk 3F0"

I have spent quite a few hours trying to solve it. It started showing this message as soon as I replaced an original HDD with a new SSD in my HP Pavilion x360 - 13t-s100 CTO (ENERGY STAR) (this is how it gets identified on HP website).

At the end I ran Windows 8.1 installation on the original HDD, it took it well (wiping preinstalled Windows 10).

And then I used Paragon "Migrate OS to SSD" to migrate my newly installed Win8.1 to my SSD.

After that - as soon as I installed my new SSD to the laptop - it stopped complaining.

Note that it gave me the same "3F0" error even if a new HDD had been initiated as UEFI, even after it was formatted for Win8.1 with 3 default partitions (as for UEFI installation).

Paragon Migration does one thing (which I think helps in these 3F0 cases): it offers to create a "Windows Boot Manager" entry on the target disk.

With this result I concluded that HP BIOS is simply looking for this "Windows Boot Manager" entry on a disk when it boots.

If the entry is not found - 3F0 error is thrown and "no hdd is found".
