Solved!

Hardware failure ID: UC00Q4-7HP6G1-MFPV6K-60WU03

15 - f010dx

Hello everyone,

A friend had some troubles with his laptop and gave it to a guy who tried to fix it. I do not know what they did, but now the pc is indicating error boot device 3F0 when he tries to turn it on. When I ran the hardware diagnostics UEF I, the Short DST failed and I got the failure ID: UC00Q4-7HP6G1-MFPV6K-60WU03. I would appreciate if someone would be able to give me the process to correct that.

Thank you very much.

Hi:

The error code reported, Hard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure, means the hard drive needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled.

Below is the link to the service manual.  The HDD R & R procedure can be found in chapter 6.

You may want to consider purchasing a better performing, normally more reliable 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).

Could you please direct me for a compatible HDD? Does any 2,5" would fit?

Thank you

Hi:

If you can get this one, and can live with 500 GB of storage space, this is what I recommend.

https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-NAND-500GB-Internal/dp/B072R78B6Q/ref=sr_1_2?hvadid=78546420667...

Otherwise any 2.5" x7.0 mm hard drive will do.
