HP Recommended
HP Pavillion g6 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I ran Norton diagnostics which identified 4 files that were allegedly making my 'start up' slow.  They appeared unrelaed to anything mportant (Spotify, Adobe etc ) and recommended i remove them from start up which i commanded .

Since that point the lap top will not boot properly.

F2 HP diagnostics report  gave Start up Test Failure PU 457W-5T8A88-MFPV4K-60RW03

Run in Testalso failed with same result.

System BIOS rollback failed

BIOS update not available.

I was hoping to get some system recovery access but this has not been possible.

Any assistance would be gratefully received.

Thank you

Hi:

Below is the failure report generated by the code you posted, minus your notebook's serial number.

Failure Information
Failure ID Tag Checksum HP Serial Number Test Date Failure Code Device Includes Error Message
PU457W-5T8A88-MFPV4K-60RW03OKXXXXXXXXXX9/20/20303StorageFloppy Drive, Hard Drive, Memory Drive, Optical Drive, SCSI, Tape DriveHard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure

According to the report, you need to install a new hard drive and reinstall the operating system.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.
