What are the steps to get a non functioning laptop that is under warranty repaired quickly?

I need this laptop for work and don't want be without several weeks by mailing it in.

I've identified an authorized service center from the HP web page, but will I have to pay for that service!!???

Laptop received on Dec 8th.  On Jan 18, a windows update, deleted all my work files.  I was unable to recover these files.  I took it to a repair place and they had heard of, but not seen this issue.  As they were trying to recover my files, the laptop crashed and wouldn't even boot.  They were able to partially restore the laptop, but now I can't access any web browser, the fingerprint login isn't working and the keyboard is failing.

We are only a bunch of volunteers supporting a self-help Community forum -- and we have no influence over any repairs or service center work, either what you have had done, or what you want to schedule.  You will have to contact them yourself to make any repair arrangements.

Since you live in the U.S., here is a link to the HP Service Repair Centers:
https://www.service-center-locator.com/hp-hewlett-packard/hp-hewlett-packard-service-center.htm

If that link does not provide you sufficient information, then use the main HP link:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true

I've found those links to be unreliable if you're using Win10 and the new Edge Browser; so if you are, you need to use something else, like FireFox.

Good Luck
