Hi @Nick326,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your device's power cord is in good condition, and you've ruled out issues with the battery, there are a few other troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check the Power Outlet: Make sure the power outlet you're using is working. Plug in another device or use a different outlet to confirm that the issue is not with the power source.

Inspect the Power Adapter: Examine the power adapter for any damage. Sometimes the issue may be with the adapter itself. If you have access to another compatible power adapter, try using it to see if the problem persists.

Reset the Power Management: Disconnect the power cord and remove the battery (if possible). Hold down the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power. Reconnect the power cord (and the battery, if removed) and try turning on the device.

Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the device for any signs of physical damage, especially around the power port and the power button. Damage to these areas could prevent the device from turning on.

Test with External Monitor: Connect your device to an external monitor if applicable. This will help determine if the issue is with the display. If the external monitor works, the problem may be with the laptop screen.

Try a Hard Reset: Try performing a hard reset. This involves removing the battery and unplugging the power cord, then holding down the power button for about 30 seconds. After that, reconnect the battery and power cord, and attempt to turn on the device.

If the issue persists, it must be a hardware issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for the response, (FYI  this is my friend's computer I'm trying to helo her) I've done all resets possible the laptop does turn on for many different different amount of time, 10 seconds, 1 minute but never long enough to do different tests and then finally it stayed on for a good hour and a half, enough time to transfer entire system to a USB stick, I couldn't believe it I'm baffled 🤔Then boom it turned off right after the transfer. I wanted to remove all the desktop items that were like 5mb up to 10mb, way to much on the desk top I believe is contributing to problems, just need HELP if anyone has another trick to turn it back on so I could clean it out out update the Bios adjust the screens resolution etc. Thank you for your time.
