I press the power button and the light on the button itself comes on, but the fans don’t kick on and the screen stays black. I have consistently had this problem once a month or so since I’ve owned the laptop. Always the same issue and I can’t get it to boot safely or through BIOS this time. So frustrating.
Tried forcing a reset
Tried windows key + B
Tried windows key + V
Tried repeatedly pressing esc
Tried repeatedly pressing F10
Anyone have any other suggestions?

Hi @Blue992
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
To begin with may i know if you get any beep sound or any light blinking when power button is pressed?
In the emantime try this:
1. Hard Reset
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try to power on the laptop again.
2. Check the Power Supply
- Ensure that the power adapter is working properly. If you have access to another compatible charger, try using that.
3. Connect to an External Display
- Sometimes the issue might be with the laptop’s display. Connect it to an external monitor or TV to see if it displays anything.
Check using the different ac adapter.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
