Hi
I have a strange problem with an HP Pavilion x360, suddenly the laptop shuts down after 10 seconds if I don't touch any keys. If I put the laptop in tablet mode, it remains on. I have already set the BIOS to default, checked the drivers with HP support assistant and completely reinstalled the laptop, but the problem still persists.
Anyone have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this further?

Hi @Marcel71,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
When a laptop shuts down abruptly after a short period, even when all drivers are up to date, it could be due to several issues:
Overheating: Check if the laptop is overheating. Dust accumulation in vents or a malfunctioning cooling fan can cause overheating, leading to automatic shutdowns for protection. Ensure the vents are clear and the fan is working correctly.
Battery or Power Issues: If the battery is faulty or not providing sufficient power, the laptop might shut down unexpectedly. Try running the laptop directly from the power adapter without the battery and see if the issue persists.
Hardware Problems: Faulty hardware components, such as a failing hard drive, malfunctioning RAM, or a problematic motherboard, can cause sudden shutdowns. Running hardware diagnostics or seeking professional assistance can help identify these issues.
Software or OS Problems: Sometimes, software conflicts or issues within the operating system can cause sudden shutdowns. Performing a system scan for malware, updating the operating system, or even performing a system restore might resolve such issues.
Update Issues: While drivers might be up to date, an update or recent software installation could still be causing conflicts. Rolling back recent updates or reinstalling problematic software might help.
Power Settings: Check the power settings in your operating system. Sometimes, settings like Sleep or Hibernate modes can cause unexpected shutdowns if configured incorrectly.
If the problem persists despite checking these possibilities, it might require further investigation by a professional technician or contacting HP support for specific troubleshooting steps or potential warranty coverage, especially if the laptop is still under warranty.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
