Bonjour

Good morning I installed an m2 SSD for Windows 11 in the slot designed for it and HDD for storage. But impossible to start the laptop on the M2. no worries with the Windows installation. The only way I found is to turn off the PC, unplug the HDD, turn the PC back on, turn it off again, plug the HDD back in, and it works as long as you don't touch the battery or discharge it. . But found nowhere in the bios to change the boot priority between hdd and m2.

Hi:

The windows boot manager determines what drive to boot from.

As long as you have Windows on the hard drive, the notebook will always want to boot from the 2.5" drive first.

Notebooks that come with dual drive configurations from HP have no OS on the hard drive.

I recommend that you back up any files you have on the drive, clean and format the disk and see if the notebook will boot from the SSD afterward.

Good morning, Thank you for your response, but the SSD and HDD were formatted before then once I installed Windows, during the various stages of this installation I again deleted all partitions on the two media and then launched the installation on the m2 ssd media. good luck to you michael.

You're very welcome, Michael

Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you to try other than resorting to leaving the hard drive disconnected and using the M.2 SSD only.

I also found this solution and that is a shame.

because I would have liked to add additional storage
