I thought my Envy 360 had run out of charge because it won't turn on. I tried plugging it and no light came on signaling it charging. I have already tried holding down the power button for 30 sec and nothing happened. What is my next step? Should I try disconconnecting and reconnecting the battery?

Hi @Carfry1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy x360 isn't turning on or charging, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try before considering disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, which can be a bit more complex. Here's what you can try.
- Check the Power Adapter: Ensure that the power adapter is plugged into a working power outlet and firmly connected to your laptop. Sometimes, a loose connection can prevent charging.
- Inspect the Power Cord and Adapter: Check for any visible damage to the power cord or adapter. If there are any signs of damage, such as fraying wires or bent connectors, it may need to be replaced.
- Try a Different Outlet: Test the power outlet with another device to ensure it's functioning properly. If possible, try a different power outlet for your laptop.
- Reset the Power Management: Sometimes, power management issues can cause charging problems. To reset the power management, disconnect the power adapter from your laptop, remove the battery (if it's removable), and hold down the power button for about 30 seconds. Then, reinsert the battery (if applicable), plug in the power adapter, and try turning on your laptop again.
- Check for Physical Damage: Inspect your laptop for any physical damage, such as liquid spills or dropped/bumped components, that may be causing the issue.
- BIOS Reset: In some cases, resetting the BIOS settings can resolve charging issues. You can usually access the BIOS by pressing a specific key (like F10 or F2) during startup. Once in the BIOS, look for an option to reset to default settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
