Hey there! @Knight001

Are you able to boot into the BIOS or F2 page on the PC?

Have you tried checking with a different adapter?

Have you tried checking with an external monitor? Does the issue persist?

Connect an external monitor to the PC and backup the data.

Try the steps recommended below.

Reset a laptop with a removable battery

Turn off the computer.
Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
With the battery and power cord unplugged, press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors.
Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the laptop, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
Press the Power button to turn on the computer.
The computer starts normally or a startup menu opens.
If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key.
After Windows opens, reconnect each peripheral device that was disconnected, one device at a time, until all devices are reconnected.

If you are able to boot into BIOS try restoring the BIOS to default.

1.    Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
2.    Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
3.    On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
4.    Press F10 to Save and Exit.
5.    Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
6.    Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

If you are able to boot into the F2 page try running a system diagnostics test and check if the hardware is functioning correctly.

I have already tried that. It doesn't work, how about USB recovery of the bios?

Thank you for posting back.

  • Are you able to boot into windows desktop?
  • What happens when you start your computer?

To get the answer to this question, Yes! you can recover the BIOS using a USB recovery drive. Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02693833#usbrecovery to know more about Recovering the BIOS.

If your computer is not booting up or powering on then it means hardware related issue and computer needs to be serviced.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

I am not able to boot into windows. When I turn on my computer; wifi light is on. Capslock light off. Fun running. Screen doesn't display anything . Took it to servicing centre, they found my inbuilt graphics card is bad.

Can this be true???

Thank you for posting back.

This sounds like hardware related issue with the computer as it's not powering on.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/
