HP Pavilion x2 - 10-n200nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi, I have a problem with my HP Pavilion x2-10-n200nl. When I try to turn it on, a screen appears indicating the low battery and the red charge led flashes. Even if I charge the computer for 2/3 hours, that screen still appears. The only way to turn on the computer is to wait for the charge led to turn white (sometimes it happens after 5 minutes, sometimes after 5 hours) and I can only use it while it's charging otherwise the battery goes from 100% to 0%. I changed the battery 2 years ago and it worked initially, but after a month the problem returned.

I apologize for my english but I'm Italian.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer shuts down as soon as you unplug the charger.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

If you continue facing the issue, then reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager.

Here is how you do it.

Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”

Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”

Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.

Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”

Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi The_Fossette, thank you for trying to help me. I did everything you told me to do. I reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and upgraded the bios and initially the problem seemed fixed. The computer also worked without the power supply, the battery did not go from 100% to 0% but was normally discharged and I had turned off the pc when the battery was at 99%. Unfortunately I tried to turn on the computer this morning and the problem recurred, the battery was low and the computer did not turn on. What else can I do?

Follow the steps in the below article and run a test on the battery.

I did the battery test using  HP Hardware Diagnostic, in the photos you can see the results. Also I ran the battery test using HP Support Assistant and the battery status is "OK"

EDIT: I've uploaded the screen of the test results but I don't know if there are visible

I recommend you discharge the battery completely (0%) and then charge it again and test if it helps.

I cannot completely discharge the battery of my pc and recharge it because when the computer is on it works only with the charger and if I disconnect it the battery goes from 100% to 0% and the pc closes.
